430.7 Marking on Motors and Multimotor Equipment. 

 

(A) Usual Motor Applications. A motor shall be marked with the following information: 

 

 

(1) Manufacturer’s name.

 

제조업체명 (Manufacturer’s name)

 

 

(2) Rated volts and full-load current.

 

For a multispeed motor, full-load current for each speed, except shadedpole and permanent-split capacitor motors where amperes are required only for maximum speed.

 

정격 전압과 전부하 전류 (Rated volts and full-load current)

  • 다속 모터(multi-speed motor)인 경우, 각 속도별 전부하 전류(full-load current)를 표시해야 한다.
  • 단, 셰이디드 폴(shaded-pole) 및 영구 분할 콘덴서(permanent-split capacitor) 모터의 경우, 최대 속도에서의 전류만 표시하면 된다.


(3) Rated frequency and number of phases if an ac motor. 

 

정격 주파수 및 상의 수 (Rated frequency and number of phases, if an AC motor)

  • AC 모터일 경우, 정격 주파수와 상(phase)의 수를 표시해야 한다.

 

(4) Rated full-load speed.

 

정격 전부하 속도 (Rated full-load speed)

 

 

(5) Rated temperature rise or the insulation system class and rated ambient temperature.

 

정격 온도 상승 또는 절연 등급 및 정격 주위 온도

  • 모터의 정격 온도 상승(Rated temperature rise) 또는 절연 시스템 등급(Insulation system class)과 정격 주위 온도(Rated ambient temperature) 를 표시해야 한다.

 


(6) Time rating. 

The time rating shall be 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes, or continuous.

 

정격 운전 시간 (Time rating)

  • 정격 운전 시간은 5, 15, 30, 60분 또는 연속(Continuous) 으로 표시해야 한다.

 


(7) Rated horsepower

if 1∕8 motor 1∕8hp or more. For a multispeed hp or more, rated horsepower for each speed, except shaded-pole and permanent-split capacitor motors 1∕8 hp or more where rated horsepower is required only for maximum speed. Motors of arc welders are not required to be marked with the horsepower rating.

 

 

  • 1/8 hp (마력) 이상의 모터는 마력을 표시해야 한다.
  • 다속 모터의 경우, 각 속도별 정격 마력을 표시해야 한다.
  • 단, 셰이디드 폴 및 영구 분할 콘덴서 모터(1/8 hp 이상) 의 경우, 최대 속도에서의 마력만 표시하면 된다.
  • 아크 용접기(arc welder)의 모터는 마력 표시가 필요 없다.

 

 

 

(8) Code letter or locked-rotor amperes if an alternatingcurrent motor rated 1∕2hp or more. 

On polyphase wound-rotor motors, the code letter shall be omitted. Informational Note: See 430.7(B).

 

코드 문자(Code letter) 또는 고정자 전류(Locked-rotor amperes), 단 AC 모터(1/2 hp 이상)인 경우

  • 다상 권선형 회전자 모터(Polyphase wound-rotor motor) 에서는 코드 문자를 생략해야 한다.

(9) Design letter for design B, C, or D motors.
Informational Note: Motor design letter definitions are found in ANSI/NEMA MG 1-1993, Motors and Generators, Part 1, Definitions, and in IEEE 100-1996, Standard Dictionary of Electrical and Electronic Terms.

 

 

디자인 문자 (Design letter for design B, C, or D motors)

  • B, C, D형 설계 모터(Design B, C, or D motors) 의 경우, 디자인 문자를 표시해야 한다.
    (참고: ANSI/NEMA MG 1-1993 및 IEEE 100-1996 표준 참조)

 

 

(10) Secondary volts and full-load current if a wound-rotor induction motor.

 

2차 전압 및 전부하 전류 (Secondary volts and full-load current)

  • 권선형 유도 전동기(Wound-rotor induction motor) 의 경우, 2차 전압 및 전부하 전류를 표시해야 한다.

 

 

(11) Field current and voltage for dc excited synchronous motors.

 

계자 전류 및 전압 (Field current and voltage for DC excited synchronous motors)

  • 직류 여자 동기 전동기(DC excited synchronous motor) 의 경우, 계자 전류 및 전압을 표시해야 한다.

 

 

(12) Winding — straight shunt, stabilized shunt, compound, or series, if a dc motor. 

Fractional horsepower dc motors 175 mm (7 in.) or less in diameter shall not be required to be marked.

 

권선 유형 (Winding type - straight shunt, stabilized shunt, compound, or series)

  • DC 모터인 경우 권선 방식(Straight shunt, stabilized shunt, compound, series 등) 을 표시해야 한다.
  • 단, 지름 175mm(7인치) 이하인 분수 마력(Fractional horsepower) DC 모터는 표시할 필요가 없다.

 

 

(13) A motor provided with a thermal protector complying with 430.32(A)(2) or (B)(2) shall be marked “Thermally Protected.” Thermally protected motors rated 100 watts or less and complying with 430.32(B)(2) shall be permitted to use the abbreviated marking “T.P.”

 

열 보호 장치(Thermal Protector) 포함 여부

  • 430.32(A)(2) 또는 (B)(2)에 적합한 열 보호 장치가 있는 경우, 모터에 "Thermally Protected" 라고 표시해야 한다.
  • 100W 이하의 열 보호 모터(430.32(B)(2) 적용) 는 "T.P."로 표시할 수 있다.

 

 

(14) A motor complying with 430.32(B)(4) shall be marked “Impedance Protected.” Impedance-protected motors rated 100 watts or less and complying with 430.32(B)(4) shall be permitted to use the abbreviated marking “Z.P.”

 

임피던스 보호 (Impedance Protection)

  • 430.32(B)(4)에 적합한 모터는 "Impedance Protected" 라고 표시해야 한다.
  • 100W 이하의 임피던스 보호 모터(430.32(B)(4) 적용) 는 "Z.P."로 축약하여 표시할 수 있다.

 

 

(15) Motors equipped with electrically powered condensation prevention heaters shall be marked with the rated heater voltage, number of phases, and the rated power in watts.

 

결로 방지용 전열기(Condensation Prevention Heater) 장착 여부

  • 전기로 작동하는 결로 방지용 전열기가 장착된 모터는 정격 히터 전압, 상의 수, 정격 전력(W) 을 표시해야 한다.

 

결로 방지용 전열기가 필요한 이유

모터 내부에서 결로(Condensation, 응결) 가 발생하면, 다음과 같은 문제가 생길 수 있습니다.

  1. 절연 저하 → 전기 절연 성능이 떨어져서 누전 및 고장 발생
  2. 부식(Corrosion) → 모터 내부의 금속 부품이 녹슬어 수명 단축
  3. 베어링 문제 → 수분으로 인해 그리스(윤활유)가 오염되어 베어링 마모

이런 문제를 방지하기 위해 고온다습한 환경이나 온도 변화가 심한 장소에서는 결로 방지용 전열기를 설치하는 것이 일반적입니다.
